Using property donated by the United Methodist Churches in Arkansas, Grace Community began as a campus of Wesley United Methodist Church in September of 1999.
Two years later September 9th of 2001, the campus became an incorporated church with 285 charter members. Grace Community is a United Methodist Ministry committed to helping individuals develop their relationship with Jesus Christ and grow in a life of discipleship and mission.
As overcrowding increased exponentially, a study team was commissioned to decide what would be the best course of action. The study team recommended the construction of a new children's building and worship center. Grace conducted a stewardship effort in the spring of 2004 with the goal of raising $900,000 to begin construction of a new children's building and worship center. The effort concluded on Sunday April 4, 2004 when Grace supporters came down and nailed their commitment to crosses at the front of the building. 1.4 million dollars were committed to our building project that Sunday. On Sunday September 12th a ground breaking ceremony was held for the construction of a 30,000 square foot children's building and a 20,000 square foot worship center. During the weekend services of October 14th & 15th 2006, Grace welcomed its new Senior Pastor, Bill Leslie, to the staff. Under his leadership we were able to complete the building project started 3 years before and, by God's grace we had our first official service on January 7, 2007! Over a thousand people attended that service and made the completion of the building a day to remember. We hope that you will join in with us as we look to the future and begin a new chapter in God's vision for Grace Community Church. back to top
